Major Mukund Varadarajan – A Braveheart of India

Major Mukund Varadarajan was an Indian Army officer who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the nation.

Born in Tamil Nadu, Mukund always dreamed of joining the army and protecting his country.

In April 2014, he led a daring operation in Shopian, Jammu & Kashmir, successfully eliminating three terrorists.

Despite being critically injured, Major Mukund continued to lead his team. He succumbed to his injuries but not before completing the mission.

For his bravery, he was posthumously awarded the Ashoka Chakra, India’s highest peacetime military honor.
